Semhof Bio Luzernpellets Medium are mown from the first cut and due to a deliberately chosen relatively late harvest time this fodder contains a lot of raw fibre with little protein. It is overgrown and fading and therefore milder. Medium alfalfa pellets make it possible to supply animals with the high-quality amino acids and proteins of alfalfa and at the same time provide a digestible, easily digestible and well-tolerated food. They are also an optimal and digestible feed to compensate for fluctuations and deficits in the roughage ration through the valuable amino acid pattern of alfalfa.
This versatile and special product serves as a high-quality roughage supplement or even substitute for horses with dental problems and can above all be used as an ideal metabolism-relieving component for horses with insulin resistance, EMS, Cushing's, PSSM and laminitis. By partially replacing hay with alfalfa medium, you can significantly reduce the percentage of ethanol-soluble sugar in the feed and thus save time-consuming hay washing (in which many good ingredients are also washed out of the hay and the hay quality is reduced). In practice, for example, you replace 1-2 kg of hay with 1 kg of Semhof Organic alfalfa Medium and can normally (depending on the hay) do without hay washing (immerse hay in water for one hour).
Also excellently suited as "concentrated feed" for Icelanders and eczema sufferers as well as all light-fodder horses and breeds!

You can feed Semhof Bio alfalfapellets Medium soaked or dry. For wet feeding, a ratio of 1:2 (1 cup alfalfa pellets and 2 cups water) with a short swelling time of 10-45 minutes is ideal. For horses that eat slowly and thus salivate sufficiently, dry feeding may be possible. For smaller doses, you can generally administer the pellets dry, e.g. as a treat. Also suitable for dosing via automatic feeders.
