Semhof Bio alfalfa chop Topline whole plants are an excellent roughage substitute or supplement. Due to the very high crude fibre content, the feeding and employment periods are correspondingly long. Due to the medium crude protein and energy content, these choppers can be used as a replacement for normal-weight or overweight horses. The Semhof Organic alfalfa Chaff Topline is also an excellent compensation for horses at work.
Can also be used as a feed component for horses with insulin resistance, EMS, Cushing's, PSSM and laminitis. By partially replacing hay with alfalfahäcksel Topline (or single), you can drastically reduce the percentage of ethanol-soluble sugar in the feed and thus save time-consuming hay washing (which also washes out many good ingredients from the hay and reduces hay quality).
In practice, for example, you can replace 1 kg of hay with 0.8-1 kg of Semhof Bio alfalfahäcksel and normally (depending on the hay) you can do without hay washing (immerse hay in water for one hour).
Long feeding times are another advantage.
When feeding oats, the mixture with the alfalfa chopped alfalfa is an excellent combination. On the one hand, the phosphorus contained in the grain is balanced by the high calcium content of the alfalfa. Furthermore, the feeding of alfalfa chaff mixed with oat grains leads to significantly better salivation. The increased number of thimbles in this way prevents over-acidification with stomach ulcers as a result. The selective eating behaviour of the horse is also promoted and has a calming and harmonising effect.
Also excellently suited as "concentrated feed" for Icelanders and eczema sufferers as well as all light horses and breeds!
You can view the alfalfa chopped Topline identically to the alfalfa pellets Topline. The difference lies in the form of processing, whether pelleted or chopped.
Please note that the fine leaves of the alfalfa shredders decompose into a kind of dust and that these plant parts have not been sieved off in the Topline shredders. The stems alone as with the alfalfa single are of lower quality and in the Topline version we only offer whole plants including the high-quality leaves for a good feeding effect. For horses that are sensitive to dust or suffer from COBD, this feed is not suitable for these reasons. The single variant would be the better option here. Please take this into account when choosing between chaff and pellets.
